Introducing ‘Walden’: The Most Comprehensive And Best Child Theme For Extra Yet

We’re so excited to present our latest child theme: Walden.

Our first ever Extra-exclusive child theme, Walden is perfect for brands or bloggers looking for a magazine-style website to showcase multiple forms of content. Although Walden is designed to fit a travel blogger or destination-focused brand, the Extra child theme can easily be adapted to fit an array of brand identities and aesthetics.

Walden ships with a custom designed home page layout for a truly unique look and feel. Throughout the site, the design pairs a muted color palette of tonal blues with subtle orange accents. This, along with elegant serif fonts, sees Walden boasts a sophisticated aesthetic that will really allow your content to stand out.

Features

Taking Extra’s content-driven design to new heights, Walden includes a series of features to help brands or bloggers display multiple news forms in attention-grabbing ways.

A first-of-its-kind, Walden adds a deeper dimension to the overall look and feel of a web presence by including a background image with its mega menu.

Next, Walden includes an exquisitely designed footer section, seeing a background image give new life to the standard, one-dimensional, single-colored footer. Complete with a company detail segment, recent post feed, tag cloud and Instagram preview, Walden’s footer section is sure to leave a lasting impression for site visitors.

Great for enticing site visitors to join your mailing list, Walden ships with an innovative newsletter subscription feature. Built with the Bloom plugin, Walden includes a custom 1-Click subscribe module complete with a beautifully designed pop-up feature, to request your viewer’s email address. Subtle, and without interrupting the site browsing process, this custom Bloom plugin (with JSON file) is sure to assist with building your mailing list.

Perfect for brands ready to sell items through their website, Walden is WooCommerce-ready, and includes a beautifully designed e-commerce storefront, complete with a customizable ad banner.
With each and every aspect of the e-store platform already designed for you, setting up your online store is quick and easy.

With a strong focus on content generation and publishing, Walden includes two custom post type sections to help users segment and define their core content types. These sections – Trip Ideas and Travel Guides – can easily be customized to fit the brand or blogger’s relevant news streams. Adding to this, Walden ships with four different post templates (letting users choose a blog post look and feel that best suits their brand), as well as a portfolio feature for users to display additional, specialized forms of content – particularly highly image-driven assets.

As with all of the Aspen Grove Studios child themes, Walden ships with a series of additional premium features.
As well as the already set-up and integrated Aspen Footer Editor (inclusive of a grid-style Instagram feed), Walden also includes a customizable 404 Error Page and a Login Customizer which allows you to easily style the default WP login console.

Walden is a fully responsive child theme and has been tested with the latest versions of all modern browsers. For additional information including set up and configuration details, view the Walden documentation or alternately, please open a support ticket.

Available for $75.00, purchase Walden via the Aspen Grove Studios shop.
